Physics Spark Center ("we", "us", "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal data we collect through sparkcenter.my and our tuition service, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We handle personal data in line with Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA).

1. Who we are

Physics Spark Center is a private Physics tuition service based in Ipoh, Perak, Malaysia, operating the website sparkcenter.my. For the purposes of the Personal Data Protection Act 2010, we are the data user responsible for the personal data described in this policy. 2. Data we collect

We only collect what we need to arrange and deliver tuition:

Contact details you give us — name, WhatsApp number, email address and the area of Ipoh you live in, submitted through our enquiry form or sent to us directly by WhatsApp, phone or email.

Student details — the student's name, school, year or form, syllabus (SPM, DLP or IGCSE) and current Physics performance, so lessons can be pitched correctly.

Lesson and payment records — schedules, attendance, progress notes and payment references. We do not store card numbers; payments are made by bank transfer or e-wallet.

Website usage data — pages visited, approximate location, device and browser type, collected automatically by our website platform (Wix) and analytics tools.

3. How we use your data

We use personal data to respond to your enquiry, schedule and run lessons, send lesson materials and progress updates, issue invoices and receipts, and inform you about our programs, slots and pricing. We also use aggregated website statistics to understand which pages are useful and to improve the site. We do not sell personal data to anyone.

4. Legal basis and consent

We process your data with your consent, given when you submit an enquiry, message us, or enrol in lessons, and where processing is necessary to perform the tuition service you asked for or to meet a legal obligation. Providing your data is voluntary, but without contact and student details we cannot arrange lessons.

5. Sharing and disclosure

We share personal data only with service providers who help us operate — our website host (Wix), messaging provider (WhatsApp), email provider and payment channels — and only to the extent needed. We may also disclose data where required by Malaysian law or to protect our legal rights. Some of these providers store data on servers outside Malaysia; where that happens we rely on their contractual and technical safeguards.

6. Cookies and analytics

Our website uses cookies to keep the site working, remember your preferences and measure traffic. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; essential cookies are required for parts of the site to function correctly.

7. Data retention

Enquiry data that does not lead to enrolment is kept for up to 12 months. Records of enrolled students are kept for the duration of tuition and for up to 7 years afterwards where needed for accounting and tax purposes, then deleted or anonymised.

8. Security

We keep personal data on password-protected devices and accounts, limit access to the tutor and anyone directly assisting with administration, and use reputable providers for hosting and messaging. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children's data

Our students are typically aged 15 to 18. Enquiries and enrolment are made by a parent or guardian, and we rely on that parent or guardian to consent to our handling of the student's personal data. A parent or guardian may review, correct or ask us to delete their child's data at any time.

10. Your rights

Under the PDPA you may ask us to give you access to the personal data we hold about you, correct data that is inaccurate or out of date, limit how we use it (for example, stop marketing messages), or delete it where we are not required to keep it. Write to physics@sparkcenter.com and we will respond within 21 days.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our service or the law changes. The current version is always published on this page with the date it was last updated. Material changes will be highlighted to enrolled families by WhatsApp or email.
